
Mélanie Denis Joaillière
Mélanie Denis is an art jeweler. Her main focus is the creation of unique, custom-made pieces combining concrete, asphalt and rusted steel with sterling silver. Since 2009, she has exhibited her creations in various galleries and shows in Quebec, the United States and Europe. Active in education, she teaches at Cégep Limoilou's École de joaillerie de Québec and Cégep du Vieux-Montréal's École de joaillerie de Montréal. Holder of a B.A. in visual arts from Université Laval (2001), a certificate in pedagogy from Université Laval (2002) and a diploma of collegial studies in fine crafts, jewelry option, from Cégep Limoilou (2007), her research is supported by a number of grants and fine crafts organizations, including the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec. She lives and works in Quebec City.
