The sustainability of a product depends primarily on its materials. For Mathieu Blanchard Signature watches, we use materials that are durable over time.
For the glass, we use sapphire crystal: This is the glass most frequently used in today's high-end watches. Sapphire crystal is 10 times harder than mineral glass and 4 times harder than acrylic glass. It is virtually impossible to scratch unless using a diamond, which is even harder. This glass is lab-created.
For the watch cases and straps, we have made great efforts to produce using sustainable materials such as natural wood, sourced from sustainable suppliers, and matte-finish stainless steel. This finish provides visual durability, as wear and tear is much less visible than with a polished finish.
As lovers of nature, it is often a source of calm, comfort, and quite frequently the starting point for our jewelry & accessories collections. We are proud to offer watches made from noble and sustainable materials. Our main material is wood, which has a significant environmental advantage over other comparable materials: low carbon emissions during the production process and the biodegradable nature of the materials.
Our watches are handmade with high precision by a highly experienced team. Each watch is naturally unique and crafted with real wood such as walnut and oak (sourced from whiskey barrels).
