The Berthoud watch, by Mathieu Blanchard, is freely designed, drawing inspiration from the most prodigious master watchmakers the estate has ever known. This model is therefore named in tribute to Ferdinand Bethoud: manufacturer of chronometers who marked history with his fabulous creations, and in particular his marine clocks which, in the 18th century, guided the vessels of the kings of France towards new horizons.
The grain of the wood, like the imprints of a hand, is unique, which makes each watch entirely different. Each watch is made with great care, so that it is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. Take it to another level and make the experience even more special with a personalized engraving engraved on the back of the watch.
The durability of a product depends mainly on its materials. For Mathieu Blanchard Signature watches , we use materials that last over time.
For the crystal, we use sapphire crystal: This is the most frequently used crystal on today's high-end watches. Sapphire crystal is 10 times harder than mineral glass and 4 times harder than acrylic glass. It is virtually impossible to scratch except by diamond which is even harder. This glass is designed in the laboratory.
For watch cases and bracelets, we have gone to great lengths to produce using sustainable materials like natural, sustainably sourced wood and matte finish stainless steel. This finish allows visual durability, since the wear of time appears much less than when glossy.
Loving nature, it is often for us a source of calm, comfort and very often the starting point for our jewelry collections & accessories. We are proud to offer watches made of noble and durable materials. Our main material is wood which has a significant advantage on the environment compared to other comparable materials: low carbon emission during the production process and biodegradable nature of the materials.
Our watches are handcrafted with great precision, by a strong experienced team. Each watch is naturally unique and made with real wood such as walnut and oak (from Whiskey barrels).
